The I Am Pretty Enough Mentoring Program is a 21-session program for girls between the ages of 8 and 15. Our focus areas are self-image, self-esteem, self-worth, and self-confidence. In addition to our key areas, we invite guest speakers to come to some of our mentoring sessions held at our facility to share with the girls on other topics such as financial literacy, mental health, emotional intelligence, abstinence (a topic especially for our teen girls), and more. We believe that it is important to reach girls at an early age; that is why we accept them as early as eight-year-olds. While being a part of this mentoring program, the girls will learn life skills, be empowered, grow, bond, and build lasting friendships. Our goal is to help each mentee discover the Beautiful Gem that she is and become the absolute best version of herself.

The mentoring program includes twelve mentoring sessions per year, and they are held at our facility in Birmingham, AL. We meet once a month on a Saturday (usually the first one) for two hours (11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. or 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.) in a group setting. Your child will be well-mentored by our great team of mentors. Here is what takes place at each session:

 

-We start each session with a fun icebreaker game to promote laughter and a comfortable space for all the mentees to share.

-We teach them from the I Am Pretty Enough curriculum and the I Am. I Will. I Can. affirmation book, which are both tailored to promote personal and academic growth. We also engage the mentees.

-We have an activity that includes role play exercises to help enhance the mentees' self-image, self-esteem...

-We do small group exercises to promote team building and the importance of helping each other.

-We will do a bullying skit at least once a year to help the mentees see the negative impact it can have on a person’s life and how it can tear down one’s self-esteem, and why they should steer away from bullying someone else and report it if they see it happening to one of their peers at school.

·We serve the mentees lunch at the end of each session.

Mentoring Fees

There is a fee of $300.00 per year. The mentoring fee can only be paid semi-annual or annual.

A one-time fee of $97.00 plus tax is due for your child’s mentoring package when signing them up for the program. Your child will need her mentoring package by her first mentoring session. The mentoring package includes:

• The I Am Pretty Enough Curriculum (the IAPE book, the IAPE workbook, and the IAPE Notebook/Journal).

• The I Am. I Will. I Can. Affirmation book.

• Two I Am Pretty Enough T-shirts (one white and white color).

• I Am Pretty Enough tote bag.

• I Am Pretty Enough Pencil and a pencil sharpener.
